The launching ceremony of the locomotive took place on July 31 2015 in Munich and was presided over by the CEO of the Deutsche Bahn AG, Dr. Rudiger Grube. The locomotive is mainly used on the lines between Nurnberg-Wurzburg-Frankfurt am Main and Munich-Passau.
